Five V Capital envisioned a stylish and functional kitchen area for their office space. Key elements included a central island with practical storage solutions, a statement boardroom feature wall, and an open shelving unit that would blend seamlessly with the overall design. The design needed to be sleek, incorporating high-quality materials like American white oak and quartzite to create a cohesive look.
The kitchen space features a striking bench top and splash back made from Paola Blue quartzite, selected for its rich colours and natural movement, making it a centrepiece of the room. The island, framed with black powder-coated steel and open shelving, provides additional storage while enhancing the area’s functionality. The cabinetry is crafted from black super matte material with anti-fingerprint technology, offering a clean, modern finish. American white oak, stained to match the surrounding interiors, frames the kitchen and complements the shelving unit. High-quality hardware ensures smooth operation and durability throughout the cabinetry.
The project presented several challenges that required precise coordination and expertise. One major hurdle was ensuring the seamless integration of the stone bench top with the powder-coated steel frame. The team sent templates to the stone mason and steel fabricator to ensure a perfect fit, aiming to avoid damage to both the stonework and the steel’s finish. Transporting the large stone island to the office space was another challenge - it was too large for the lift and had to be carefully carried up the stairwell. Additionally, during the manufacturing process, stain sampling of the American white oak was crucial to achieving the desired match with the office surroundings, ensuring the final look aligned with the client and architect’s vision.
The completed project delivered a beautifully balanced and functional kitchen space that met the client’s expectations. The carefully curated quartzite splash back draws attention, while the combination of stained American white oak and black super matte cabinetry adds warmth and sophistication. The open shelving concept, proposed by Cutting Edge Cabinetry, not only enhanced the island’s practicality but also provided structural support. Despite the challenges, the precise execution of the design, along with seamless integration of the materials, resulted in an elegant kitchen that fits perfectly within the office environment. The result is a modern, inviting space that blends form and function, reflecting the expertise of Cutting Edge Cabinetry in handling complex commercial fit-outs.
