CyberCX sought a comprehensive fit-out for their office space, including a reception counter, feature walls, seating, kitchens, and specialised cabinetry for their printer room, first-aid room, and lab rooms. They envisioned a modern and cohesive design that combined functionality with a refined aesthetic. A 3.4-metre high bookshelf was a key feature, adding both practicality and a striking design element to the space. To ensure a seamless and efficient project, Cutting Edge Cabinetry worked closely with CyberCX and the project architect, aligning the design with the desired look while maintaining a focus on budget and quality.
The project featured a blend of high-quality materials to achieve a modern, sophisticated look throughout the office space. A mix of oak veneers, soft-touch black cabinetry with anti-fingerprint technology, and powder-coated steel in black created a striking yet practical design. The Titanium Gold bench top added a touch of luxury, while each area had tailored finishes to meet its specific needs. For the lab rooms, Indian Blue Ink cabinetry was paired with a Snowdrift laminate bench top, offering durability and a fresh, clean look. In the printer room, a combination of Indian Ink and Snowdrift Cabinetry with a Pietra Cloud laminate bench top provided a sleek, professional appearance.
This large-scale project came with the challenge of a tight budget and strict deadlines, requiring precise coordination. Integrating installations across different zones while working around other trades called for detailed planning. Before manufacturing began, Cutting Edge Cabinetry held meetings with the client and architect to ‘value’ engineer the project, ensuring the design vision was met at the best possible price. The complex nature of the space, with existing steelwork and columns, necessitated custom templating, angle work, and hidden fixings. This approach allowed for a seamless look with no visible connections on the face of panels and cabinetry. The involvement of specialist trades, such as an upholsterer for seating and a powdercoater for steel framing, further ensured that every detail was executed to the highest standard.
The office fit-out was successfully completed within the project’s time frame and budget, transforming the space into a cohesive, functional, and visually appealing environment. The custom cabinetry, precise detailing, and thoughtful material selection delivered a seamless and modern design. The large 3.4-metre high bookshelf became a standout feature, adding both visual interest and practical storage. The reception area, with its feature walls and high-end finishes, set a welcoming tone for visitors, while the tailored cabinetry in the printer, first-aid, and ab rooms provided durable and attractive solutions suited to their specific functions. The project showcased Cutting Edge Cabinetry’s expertise in delivering complex, large-scale commercial projects with precision and style.
“We had the pleasure of working with William from Cutting Edge Cabinetry for our new fit-out at 131 Queen Street. From the start of our project, William had a keen understanding of our vision, the unique character of our new home on Queen Street, and made several key and practicable recommendations; including designing and building several key custom items for us on the back of a few discussions. The quality of the workmanship was outstanding and the attention to detail was evident in every aspect of what William and his team delivered. William and his team didn't just meet all deadlines, but delivered ahead of schedule - all without compromising on quality and cost. William was always available to respond to questions and was excellent to work with. We're incredibly happy with the finished result and would recommend William and his team to anyone looking for high quality cabinetry.”
