Colin and Carol Storey’s kitchen had sustained significant damage during the Auckland floods. Seizing the opportunity to elevate their space, the couple engaged Cutting Edge Cabinetry to design and install a fresh, functional kitchen that would transform the heart of their family home. Though the existing layout was retained, the brief called for a clean, balanced design that brightened the room and improved usability, while maintaining a classic aesthetic.

Design & Materials

Our team worked closely with Colin and Carol to realise their vision. The kitchen’s design was streamlined, creating a sense of balance and openness throughout the space. Key to this transformation was the use of Ronda profile doors and drawers, finished in Indian Ink and Classic White. The striking contrast of these colours brought a sophisticated, timeless look to the room.

For a touch of luxury and practicality, the cabinetry was fitted with Antaro drawer hardware, including inner drawers for added storage efficiency. We integrated an LED ribbon under the range hood cupboards, featuring a convenient wave sensor, enhancing both the functionality and modernity of the kitchen.

The elegant bench top and hob splash back the couple chose added to the refined feel of the space, while a white sink bowl completed the look, ensuring both style and durability.

Challenge

This project posed a unique design challenge, as the space was initially unbalanced, making it difficult to create consistent, clean lines across all four walls. Our team meticulously crafted a solution, ensuring every corner of the kitchen aligned harmoniously, while maintaining functionality and flow throughout the design as a whole.

Outcome

The result was a beautifully transformed kitchen that not only met but exceeded the client’s expectations. With its enhanced layout and open, airy feel, the space is now a seamless blend of style and practicality.
